As the Wales Blog Awards enters its last week of nominations, the competition has announced a prestigious new prize for the winner of this year’s ‘People’s Choice Award’.

The winner of the category will receive national media exposure across Wales as a guest blogger for WalesOnline.

The winning blog, as voted by the public, will have four columns published on the lifestyle opinion section of the website, as recognition of their outstanding work.

The People’s Choice Award is voted for by members of the public from a shortlist of finalists across all of the Wales Blog Awards categories, as selected by the judging panel.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 28th February.

MediaWales’ Online Correspondent Lorna Doran said: “We’re incredibly pleased to be able to offer this prize for the winner of the People’s Choice award. It’s a fantastic category because it lets members of the public chose the one blog in Wales that they love to read above all others, and you can’t get a better recommendation than that.

“The awards have grown so much over the last four years that it seems really fitting for us to showcase the ‘People’s Choice’ blog and give them the recognition they deserve.”

Warwick Emanuel PR set up the Wales Blog Awards in 2010 and organises them in conjunction with Media Wales. The company sees the event as a way to support and encourage everyone who wants to write and publish online the things about which they feel passionate.

Cardiff-based Warwick Emanuel PR was set up in 2001 by business partners Elizabeth Warwick and Wynford Emanuel. The company specialises in the energy, utility, social housing and business to business sectors.

  1. “The People’s Choice Award is voted for by members of the public from a shortlist of finalists across all of the Wales Blog Awards categories, as selected by the judging panel.”

So it’s not a people’s choice award then? It’s a short list of whoever the Western Fail judges condescend to consider worthy of their failing publication.

Why not make it a real people’s choice award and let the people choose from ALL of the entries?

  2. Hi – we receive hundreds of entries for our awards so unfortunately it would be impossible to open all of the nominated blogs to the pubic vote. Our People’s Choice Award is open to all the finalists from every category
